When a person dies, the body of that person remains on earth such that those who are still on earth can be able to see it, but they cannot be able to see where the spirit of that person has gone. Which means that though the body of that person may still be seen on earth but the person himself which is the spirit has departed from that body. And so this tells us that a person is not the body that we see with our physical eyes but rather a person is the spirit, inside that body, that we cannot see with our physical eyes. This is the reason why when the spirit departs from that body, the body of that person is said to be dead because the real person who was in that body, has departed from that body. What I want to say is that the real Jesus was not the body which the 12 disciples used to see on earth but rather the real Jesus was the Spirit inside that body which physical eyes could not see. When Jesus died He resurrected from the dead and went to heaven and gave us His Spirit. As the bible Galatians 4:6 says, "Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba! Father!'" and so this means that if we have received the Spirit of the Son of God, Jesus, then we are still with the real Jesus. It's therefore not about being with the fleshly form Jesus, but it's about being with Christ who was in that fleshly form of Jesus, it's about being with the Spirit of the same Jesus. Because it is not the body of Jesus which is the real Jesus, it is the Spirit of Jesus that was in that body which is the real Jesus. That is why in John 14:17-18 Jesus said "17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you." And so Jesus was trying to tell his disciples that He was that Spirit that was currently abiding 'with them', in fleshly form, but shall soon begin to dwell 'in them', in spirit form. And then He continued and said in verse 18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." This tells us that if we must walk with the Holy Spirit Who Himself is Christ, we must therefore be very sensitive to acknowledge His presence just like we can be able to acknowledge the presence of a fellow human been. The same way He used to walk with His deciples before He died, doing miracles and instructing them on what to do, is the same way He is desiring to walk with anyone who recognizes His presence in that same capacity. Even scripture refers to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Jesus in Acts 16:7, when it says, "When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to." He is the same Jesus in the person of the Holy Spirit. This book was therefore written in order to help us walk with Him.
