If you answered yes, I believe you will enjoy these books. What if I'm not a big science fiction fan? The King and The Kid series has an edge of science fiction, but the stories are more about the characters themselves and how they react and relate with one another. I'm in my forties. Isn't the series geared toward younger readers? Yes, the series is geared toward young readers (no foul language, gore or sex). However, book lovers of all ages have told me they liked the series.
