On a mission to the East End to retrieve his wayward nephew, Dr. Watson not only meets Sherlock Holmes in Disguise but together both find themselves in a murder scene and in the midst of the terrible Dreyfus Affair that is tearing France apart. A beautiful young wife summons Sherlock Holmes to help explain her husband's very strange behavior. He has resigned from the bureaucracy and is now on stage playing the role of Quasimodo. The setting then moves to Paris where all parties become involved in the treachery of the Dreyfus Affair but also in the diabolical machinations of the evil professor himself, who is intent on vastly increasing his wealth even if it means sending Europe into war.
