This release pays homage to the compositions of Austrian composer Johann Strauss II (1825-99), with philharmonic orchestral renditions of some of his most popular waltzes, mounted and recorded at the Café Sperl in Vienna, on March 9, 2011. Selections include: Kaiserwalzer, Op. 437, Lagunenwalzer, Op. 411, Rosen aus den Süden, Op. 388, Wein, Weib und Gesang!, Op. 333, and Schatzwalzer, Op. 41; among the featured performers are Leopold Godowsky, Tibor Kovác and Fritz Kreisler.
