As the Americans survive a sea battle, tour occupied Paris and Berlin, and nally complete their training in Hanau, they realize that they have become caught in the political in- ght between the SD, the intelligence wing of the SS, and the Abwehr, the German army intelligence agency. e Americans’ eventual participation in the mutiny and slaughter aboard the U-168 drives them underground inside the U.S. as they try to elude a relentless SS assassin, obsessed with the completion of his mission.
