Excerpt from The Religious Census of London
As one of the public, Mr Gladstone feels much indebted to the Editor, especially in the present very defective state of our information, for the religious census of London.
A numerical comparison with the results obtained in the other great towns would be interesting.
So, of course, would be a comparison with corresponding parts abroad; but this, Mr. Gladstone supposes, would be difficult of attainment.
It occurs to him that perhaps in the United States there might be a disposition to follow the example so well set here.
