William Everton Heitland (1847–1935) was a celebrated Classicist and fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, from 1871 until his death. In this third and final volume of his masterpiece trilogy, originally published in 1909, Heitland examines the Roman Republic from the death of Sulla in 78 BC until the final transition to Rome as an Imperial power under Augustus.
