Set in Warren,Ohio,The Sum Of A Broken Home,chronicles the struggle of two boys who took residence in their grandparents home following split of their biological parents. While living in the home,the boys encountered psychological and physical abuse at the hands of their grandmother,who in turn evict the boys from her home just as they reach puberty.Homeless,with no place to go,they called their dad who came to their rescue by moving them in with him. Problem is,he,s addicted to crack cocaine. In this memoir, written from the narrative voice of Lance,readers will follow the young boys as they deal with the unmerciful realism of living from one bad environment to the next all while knowing they have no other alternative. As teenagers,they take matters into their own hands and exit the home when the opportunity presented itself. Harry,the oldest boy escapes by entering into the US Army.
