After discovering an unidentified egg on the shore of a nearby loch, a young Scottish boy attempts to protect the rapidly growing hatchling from those who question its origins and view it as a potential threat in My Dog Skip director Jay Russell's screen adaptation of author Dick King-Smith's popular novel. Young actor Alexander Nathan Etel portrays the lonely boy who is determined to protect the strange creature, with David Morrissey stepping into the role of the Royal British Army captain determined to secure the creature under decree of the government.
