It was the darkest and most desperate of days we humans had ever been forced to experience. Political corruption and uncontrolled power lust had triumphed over the complacent citizenry of our planet. A carefully crafted unfathomable apocalypse had befallen humanity. Billions were dead, the economies of every country were changed forever, and an authoritarian, tyrannical regime now ruled the world. Abject oppression now dominated over any notions of freedom or individuality. Brutal puppet feudal lords ruled with iron fists. The dark ages had returned on a planetary scale. But hope stirred eternal, and from another time and another place, a determined faction of future people assembled the bravest of battle hardened recruits.
