Written and directed by Juanita Wilson, this drama thriller is an adaptation of Daniel Woodrell's novel. The story follows a lonely drifter named Sammy Barlach (Jake Weary) who drives from town to town without any definite plan. But when he stops at a small town in the Ozarks, he encounters an ambitious woman with tomato red-colored hair, Jamalee Merridew (Julia Garner), who sees his gorgeous brother Jason (Nick Roux) as their family's ticket out of their desperate lives. The three's lives later intertwine as they try to pursue better life goals amidst the corruption around them.
