are the names you're probably familiar with, but the other 14 artists on this inaugural compilation from
Yorn
's custom label sound very familiar. Maybe because
and his co-owners (including one of
the Wallflowers
) fill their roster with bands and
singer/songwriters
that frolic in the same song-driven fields. Which means it's all very pleasant, it's just not very distinguishable. Acoustic guitars,
alt-country
leanings, and overly earnest sentiments are the main ingredients. The finished dish is hearty but also kinda bland. ~ Michael Gallucci
