ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
A novel based on true events that intensely depicts life on the country's northern border, this other Mexico inside of Mexico that lives on a razor's edge and in which the line that separates legality from illegality is as porous as the one that divides one country from the other.
Carolina is an attractive young woman from Ciudad Juarez. Life seems to smile at her: the family business is prosperous, her older brothers adore and protect her, and at her young age, she's beginning to become the object that attracts all the masculine stares in Juarez—and this clearly doesn't bother her. While life in the city is disrupted by violence, drug cartels, and corruption, Carolina seems to live in a parallel reality, between candor and cynicism.
Vicente is a reporter that begins his career at a newspaper in the country's capital. Thanks to his dedication and bravery for exposing public officials, he's assigned to an important missions: covering the president's, Enrique Calderón Nieto's, war on drugs in the northern part of the country. A short time after beginning his investigation, he discovers that the issue is a lot graver than just a bloody dispute between rival bands of criminals and that the web of complicity and corruption reaches the district attorney and the governor of the state.
What will happen when the paths of these two characters—Carolina and Vicente—cross? A master of mixing a political thriller and a comedy of errors, Your Hair Is The Border, is a faithful portrait of the political decomposition of a country, and at the same time, a touching portrait of the day-to-day life of millions of Mexicans who live, in every sense, right on the line.
