Mrs. Harris was in Philadelphia to recruit. Thanksgiving was at hand. She knew that our brave soldiers would have a cheer less Thanksgiving of it on the Heights, with nothing but these dry rations. She wrote Mr. Stuart, describing it, and asking for apples to cook for them, and some other things to give a pleasant variety. Roast turkeys and mince pies were not thought of.
