A Darkness Unbound
Young warlock Kaen, the unsung hero who saved the city of
Nocteshire from the malevolent archdemon Mageddus, has
abandoned his self-imposed quest to find the mysterious and
ancient Kingdom of August, choosing instead to live a meager,
peaceful life in a small town on the outskirts of the Commonwealth.
Soon, however, a new threat emerges from a void beyond
reality, calling Kaen to action once more. Joined by a group
of misfit companions, Kaen must now trek across the known
world to save all of creation from a dark unmaking.
Meanwhile, in Nocteshire, the new leader of the Commonwealth,
Fatale Corbrey, rules unopposed. After the destruction of the
wealthy Inner City, any who would have defied her claim to the
Magistracy have been eliminated. But some roots, she learns, are not
so easily ripped out. Dissent still lurks within the city, and beyond
the Commonwealth's borders, a powerful adversary has taken
notice of her ascendency.
Their destinies intertwined, Kaen and Fatale must forge new
alliances and confront new enemies to shape the fate of a world
teetering on the edge of reality. Secrets, treachery, and betrayal
abound. Darkness shrouds all.
Nothing is as it seems.
