Rose Sullivan grew up with two dreams, to learn to fly like Amelia Erhart and to spend her life as Mrs. Joe Garvy. But at age 18, as the United States enters another great war, she faces a difficult choice. She can grab the brass ring and serve her country as a military test pilot with the new WASP program (Women's Airforce Service Pilots) or wed her childhood sweetheart and perhaps keep him safe from the draft. "Marry me, Rose," Joe said. "Stay at home where I know you are safe." But forever dreams are hard to abandon, and some decisions not always wise.
