The function of oil in the everyday life of an individual is overwhelming. Most countries have their economy revolving around the oil deposit on their land. Oil is essential in the development of every nation. God is also into the business of oil. He gives oil, and He uses oil as a representation of His presence and power in the lives of His ministers. Most Machines and vehicles can never be efficient without the use of proper oil in their engines or hubs. When there is no oil, friction and rust destroy the capabilities of a good machine. This book throws more light on the importance of oil in the life of a minister. It shows the significance of the presence of God in the Church. "When you lack oil" simply means "When you lack the presence of the Holy Spirit". What is the effect on those without the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives and ministry? How can you accomplish more without the power of the Holy Spirit? You cannot serve God well without the Helper, who abides in you forever; Jesus Christ assured His followers in John 14:12
, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father."
We must believe in Jesus Christ to enable us to serve God and do more outstanding works. That is the assurance we have. Again, Jesus Christ promised His followers the Helper in John 14:16, 17, and 26.
And I will pray for the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.
There is a Helper who will remain and stay forever. He is the third person in Trinity, God the Father, the Son, and
God the Holy Spirit.
He is your comforter. He is your counsellor. He is your Helper. He is your intercessor; He is your advocate. He is your strength. As you read this book and ponder the scriptures, we pray that the Holy Spirit will strengthen you. The same Holy Spirit fortified David after returning from war, and the enemies took his family captive. (1 Samuel 30:6) The oil represents the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. (Exodus 29:7). We need the oil in our lives to empower us to serve God well. (Acts 1:8)
