Wild Things is a true story that took place when the author was a child living near Atlanta, Georgia. It is written in the southern and negro dialect that is well known in the southern part of the United States. The main character is a child who suffers great angst due to circumstances her favorite relative finds himself in and as usual, she seeks comfort from her best friend, an elderly African American woman.
