This satisfying two-disc set contains 34 tracks worth of latter-day Benny Goodman recordings. Although swing, the movement for which Goodman was once the poster boy, was long out of the fashion by the late 1950s and early '60s (the period from which these recordings were taken), the clarinetist and bandleader plays with the same verve as he did in his heyday. Classics like "'Deed I Do," "A Fine Romance," and "Pennies from Heaven" pepper this excellent compilation of classic big band music.
