I am a certified reviewer for the National Certification Program sponsored by the International Association of Directors for Law Enforcement Standards and Training, and presented a webinar titled, Creating Bias-Free Training as part of its Instructor Development series.
Ninety-one percent of my identification stems from regions in Africa. The remaining 9% stems from Great Britain, Ireland, western Europe, Polynesia, and Native America.
My career became policing. While serving in uniform and after that time, my focus turned to curriculum development for police/law enforcement subjects.
Developing curriculum involves confirming reliability and validity, transfer-ability of knowledge from the classroom to reality, thoroughness of data collection and course presentation adhering to methods best suited to the adult learner group.
Additionally, I bring to the table uniformed and civilian experiences such as serving on hiring and promotion panels, critical incident review panels, advisory councils, monitoring settlement agreements, course content review with editing, designing training and discussion on implicit bias, and Diversity-Equity-Inclusion.
My career biography includes adjunct teaching as well.
My educational biography includes a Doctorate in Adult Education Leadership degree earned at Walden University, masters and baccalaureate degrees earned at Temple University, along with several instructor certifications.
When invited, I serve as a Proposal Reviewer for the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education.
My passion is writing, giving the bottom-line-up front, and following a simple principle.
