This book is about a man that wants to see how he measures up to the ranch cowboys of days gone by. Currently there are very few remote ranches that still operate under the same living conditions as they did a hundred years ago, but they do exist. This book is fictional to make it more entertaining, but most of the stories are based on actual occurrences. It gives a perspective on humanity and the dedication it take to persevere. How humor downplays the seriousness of some situations and enables them to keep going through demanding and exhausting times. It touches on the philosophy of living, politics, stewardships and characters' beliefs. This book is about the good guys winning because on these type ranches they do; not for the reason that they're such good people, but through the structure of an intimate community. If you don't measure up to the rest of the community you don't last, but if you meet their expectations, they consider you "A Good Fit."
