After suddenly losing her father, CJ and her mother need a change. They decide to visit Aunt Natalie at her 'Half Moon' Ranch in Northern California, where they hope to relax and heal. But danger lies ahead. While trespassing with her new friends Jillian and Dylan in a neighbor's swimming pool, the group witnesses a home burglary in progress. Before they can call someone for help, they are abducted at gunpoint with no one knowing their whereabouts. That means it's up to CJ and her friends to figure out how to escape. Luckily, they have a little help from some unusual sources, including Aunt Natalie's psychic powers, two Miwok tribe members, and spirit animals - all who conspire to try to find CJ and her friends. It's a journey that includes a dangerous car crash, being swept downriver and eventually getting locked in a sweltering metal shed with the temperature rising and seemingly no way out!
