Among the Perishable Stars contains selected poems written during the years 1995-2012. Smith's work explores themes of mythology and history, inspired by her studies of the cultures and archeology of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Celtic Europe. Other themes include Fairy Tales, Judeo-Christian ideas of the sacred or divine feminine and the legend of the fallen angels.
