"Proving that even mediocre films will be given a decent DVD release, Analyze That is far from a spectacular disc, but still has enough going for it to give it a try. Warner, as usual, produces a fine enough transfer, framed at 1.85:1 and anamorphic. A full-frame version is available separately. Colors are generally bright and realistic, though detail isn't particularly strong. While certainly nothing to complain about, the image doesn't stand out. Unfortunately, neither does the sound. The 5.1 English Dolby Digital track lacks any creative effort, as everything is centered up front, with no significant separation up front or in the rear speakers. Though some supplemental features are offered, they don't strengthen this disc. A commentary track from director Harold Ramis is relatively weak, with sporadic comments, though at times they are interesting. The documentary, actually a ten-minute studio fluff piece, actually gives away some key plot points, so be sure not to watch it first. Finally, along with the theatrical trailer and some filmographies, is an amusing test, called ""M.A.D.E. -- the Mafioso Associate Degree Exam,"" to see if you belong in ""the family."" Neither a laugh fest, nor an exceptional disc, which is unfortunate considering the talent involved."
