The subject-matter here is intentionally mundane—suitcases, shoes, tools, books, food, flowerpots, dishes, furniture, Christmas decorations—and at first glance the images seem to be an unsentimental inventory of these objects as well as a celebration of the two beloved individuals who owned them. Yet a closer examination reveals Tese's own consciousness in the order and arrangement of these things, proof of her role as an interpreter who evokes the past while imagining the future.
