Abandoned at fourteen years of age on an alien space station, she has to learn how to survive on her own in a completely alien environment, with only her wits and her feline companion Caesar to rely on. Kindred spirits, Brute and Rose form a fast friendship, but if pirates, bounty hunters or irate slavers don't ruin them, Brute's anger and Rose's trust issues just might.
