Designed with the face of Piero Fornasetti’s muse, Lina Cavalieri, this sketch is reminiscent of Fornasetti’s series, “Theme and Variations,” a collection of reimagined portraits of Cavalieri where the Italian opera singer is repeatedly depicted in different settings—sometimes silly or slightly provocative but always identifiable.
