It examines cultural exchanges between China and the US in the broad realms of the humanities, including comparative studies of Chinese and American literature, history, philosophy, religion, economics, and politics; teaching Chinese as a foreign language and teaching Chinese culture in the US; studies of Chinese Americans, and other topics. It aims to create a cultural dialogue to enhance mutual understanding and support between two world powers—China and the US—at a historical juncture when economic and political tensions between these two are on the rise.
