Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's magnum opus +Don Giovanni - on the randy exploits and grim fate of the legendary titular womanizer - moves the famous story into the dark heart of 1940s Spain, in this 2005 production from the Teatro Real Madrid. It stars Carlos Alvarez as the Don, Maria Bayo as Donna Anna, José Bros as Don Ottavio, and Sonia Ganassi as Donna Elvira; Lorenzo Regazzo lends a supporting turn as Leporello. The Chorus and Orchestra of the Teatro Real lend symphonic accompaniment, under the baton of Victor Pablo Perez, while Lluis Pasqual conducts for the stage. Ezio Frigerio did the sets, while Franca Squarciapino designed the costumes.
