Every Kink and Coil is one African American woman's experience of healing through her journey with her hair. Overcoming bullying and trauma that started at a young age and moving past self hatred and society pressures to finally find love for herself. Looking outside of several societal norms helped her find a new level of understanding of who she is and what she wants in life, but it wasn't until she learned to see the beauty in herself through the eyes of loved ones did she finally find total acceptance, and love for who she is.
