When a storm hits South East London on Bonfire Night, nothing goes according to plan. Francis' Dad has lost the dog and a truck of sweets crashes into their front room, forcing them to move. Sarah goes shopping and becomes involved in a car crash, with her twins in the backseat. Once home, the twins play football in the passage. In the blackout there is a crash and Sereen ends up with a severely broken leg. The girls are on a night out in the city centre and decide to leave, before the town becomes flooded. Molly cautiously drives home, as the howling wind and pouring rain reduce her visibility to ten meters. The floodwaters sweep them away as they desperately hang on for dear life. The families, fight against all odds, to survive the torrential rain and ever rising flood. Their loyalties, friendships and bravery become tested and woven into the fabric of the night.
