For Luna proves a compelling debut novel with Abma clearly demonstrating a knack for creating vibrant and emotionally charged characters. With a labyrinthine plot and a likeable protagonist, it's a strong beginning to what promises to be an excellent series. A riveting tale that advances at a satisfying pace, suspense and tension always to the fore as Abma achieves a real sense of place and time. Few authors get it right first time, especially in such a highly applauded genre but Abma's passion and palpable enthusiasm invigorate his plot whilst a nod to noir crime reminds us of the true impact of crime on those around us. On this level, we find the echoes of circular tragedy and fragile hope which allows readers to reflect upon events and really brings Chase and Nigel to life.
