second and last shot at stardom took more of an L.A. country-rock approach than his more countrified debut album, with some Allman Brothers-like guitar playing, some Eagles-like vocal harmonies, and a guest appearance by . crony made a return visit, playing his usual collection of stringed instruments. But still didn't manage to present a strong enough identity to emerge from the thicket of noble intentions and respectable musical influences his music evoked.
