Based on the lives of actual people, this novel tells the story of an average couple with roots in Midwest America. They meet when they are young, develop a strong attraction, but go their separate ways. They meet again in middle age, fall in love, marry and develop a successful business together, even though they have many obstacles to overcome. Unfortunately, they encounter difficulties that seem insurmountable and they separate. They meet again in old age and discover that the embers of their love are still alive and burst into a flame that is brighter than ever. Obstacles still exist. Will their hope and faith in each other be able to overcome as they near the end of their lives?
