's induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1998 was always a done deal for the singer who pretty much functioned as the First Lady of Country Music in the 1970s, and her marriage to country singer , although it only lasted around five years, seemed to play out in real life the fractured emotional themes of both of the singer's songs. This brief ten-song set hardly begins to capture any of that, although it does contain two duets with , and and a third song, the classic which pretty much sums up their stormy relationship. Missing is 's greatest song, the immortal which underscores why this collection is only adequate at best. ~ Steve Leggett
