The PBS radio series regularly features trumpeter on well-scripted shows. This particular CD finds and his hot group (with either or on clarinet, trombonist , pianist , doubling on banjo and guitar, bassist and drummer ) on excerpts from a few Christmas jazz programs. Among the notable guests are pianist (heard on ), flugelhornist (duetting with on "The Christmas Song"), soprano saxophonist (who jams on a heated "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" with the full band), bassist (on "Winter Wonderland"), singer (on two songs, including a rendition of "White Christmas" notable for including the rarely heard verse) and tap dancer .
