The year 1973 turned out to be prolific for , who released not one but two of what many would consider to be their finest albums since their days on the imprint during the heydays of . The first half of this two-fer collection, , isn't the strongest of the two albums, although it does provide for some lively moments, including (a nominee for a lost soul classic if there ever were one), and The extended version of ' classic is alone worth the price of admission for soul enthusiasts.
