In 1981 Federico, a 36-year old Italian tour escort of a group of Italian students in Ireland, meets Blanche, a 21-year old au-pair girl from France. He is a radio disc jockey and also a teacher of English. They decide to meet again two months later and make love. In the meantime he accompanies his group to London and then he goes to New Jersey for one month with another group. He meets Blanche in France and then in Italy. The title comes from the car number plates of Ireland, Italy and France.
