Maria Paris cannot wait to attend college. However, college becomes more than what Maria expects as she becomes a victim of an attempt on her life. Maria begins to look for answers. She goes on a personal journey that leads her to her mother, an NYPD detective who is in the running for NYPD Chief of Police. Unexpectedly, Maria's mother gets killed in front of her.
