Maggie sat on the floor cross-legged with her back against a chair. "Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. I am lost. I am one of your lost sheep. I am sinking. Lord, I am drowning. Please come to me in my hour of need. Show me that you exist. Give me something to hold onto. You said that you left us with your peace. Lord, give me your peace, I pray you. Give me your peace." Tears rolled down her cheeks. Slowly she became aware of a feeling of warmth and love, beginning in her heart and spreading to her belly and her shoulders and neck and her head and down her legs to her feet. It seemed to envelope her completely, including the space around her. It was so strong and powerful it made her gasp. She wanted to say, 'Stop. Stop. That's enough. That's all I need.' But the amazing peace strengthened and continued on and on. Her legs were getting numb sitting in that position, but she didn't move and she didn't care. She sobbed. She said, "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
