Willie, a young Canada goose, experiences a mishap on his first migration and gets help from an unexpected source. Sam, a Sandhill Cranes, takes Willie under his wing and teaches him a different way of doing things. On his journey, Willie makes new friends, confronts prejudices, and realizes that differences aren't silly, stupid, or wrong.
