Kammie and Me, is a book that assist teachers and parents of school age children in explaining and discussing acceptance of others, in lighthearted way. Through the voice of Kammie children will learn first hand how it feels to be a kid with a disability. The author thoughtfully places discussion questions at the end of the book that are kid appropriate. The discussion questions will allow children to share and discuss with their peers, teachers and families, what they have learned from the book, and how they can be more acceptant of others with differences. Along with discussions the author gives room for kids to use their artistic abilities to recall and draw a time when they have have helped someone feel a sense of belonginess. .
