When entered the recording studio in June 1980 to record what was to be his fifth album, it was make or break time with . He emerged from the studio with 12 songs, but wasn't happy with what they had heard, so they sent him back to work on more material. The material that he began working on that November eventually became his final album, , while only two songs from the June sessions were ever released.
