This book is the second installment of the Happy and Melanated series. The first installment was Karen and Her Encounter with the Colored Rainbow is a great tongue and cheek intergenerational book that uses real world scenarios to promote self-love and inclusivity. This part of the series deals with identifying which of your superpowers creates magic. The answer is all of them. Everything in your unique you make magic. It's everywhere in all every part that are you. You get a great two for one in this book. It is written in English and then re-written/translated in Spanish. I have been an educator for 25 years. Among other certifications and licenses, teaching is the one of the greatest careers next to being a mother, I have ever been blessed to be a part of. I get to shape and mold minds. I get to make memories that no one else did in that moment; and more than that, what I do lasts a lifetime. Therefore, I became a children's author. I write with the kids I teach in mind. What is the most positive gift you can ever give a child? The ability to see themselves for the greatness they possess, in whatever it is, they shine best in. I always start there and build out. Finding the beauty that is specifically you is so important to young minds and evolving psyches. I call all the books I've written intergenerational. Initially, my books are for kids to read and see themselves in the story. However, they are also written for the parent or whomever is reading to kids, to take in the positive affirmations of the book as they are reading them to their little ones.
