My English college professor told me in the classroom one day, "Ivan, you are going to author a book on an important topic that everyone will be interested in reading." I asked, "Why Me?" The professor exclaimed with a bright smile, "Why not you, Ivan? You have a gift in your writing style to make people feel good about themselves. You can empower people to believe in positive and constructive ideas while their entire world is crumbling around them." I am overwhelmed with enthusiasm – how my college professor predicted the future on my behalf. Forty years later, I am debuting a thrilling memoir titled, My Life, My Faith, My Service, Now I Am Fighting Parkinson's Disease (PD). The purpose of writing this book is to provide an account of my life that many people can identify with before being diagnosed with a life-changing medical condition. Readers from all levels of life will enjoy reading this book of memoirs because they can relate to the life episodes of learning and dealing with individual struggles ranging from suffering from personal and mental pain to dealing with a life-altering medical condition. Positively, my reflections are never dim but always bright. Despite having a brain disorder that causes uncontrollable movements, stiffness, and difficulty with balance, I reinforce this mind to Never, Never, Never give up the fight.
