Maggie Belle, a retired amateur sleuth, plans to rest out her days in a quaint English country village called Blooming Hill. After booking into Buttercup Villa, she looks forward to baking, knitting, and plenty of gardening. Certainly, no sleuthing, or mysteries, of any kind. When one of her fellow residents, an overly dramatic and retired Broadway performer, decides the residents of the rustic villa will perform a classic play for the town, a series of inexplicable events unfold, wrapping the entire production in a shroud of mystery and intrigue. Maggie is uncertain of who she can trust and so everyone becomes a suspect in her search for answers. Maggie uncovers the age-old truth that not everything is as simple as it appears. To uncover the culprits, and save the play from ruin, Maggie has to dig to understand cast and crew. Who is this theatre poltergeist? And will she solve the mystery before showtime?
