Herbie Rizer finds himself disenchanted with marriage to a self serving and barren woman. His wife's high school friend, Phyllis, a divorcee, comes into their lives and a clandestine affair ensues. Lenore, Herbie's wife, uncovers his infidelity. Their marriage unravels. A contentious divorce destabilizes Lenore. She becomes obsessed and stalks her ex.
