Our California tree-fruit growers regularly supply us with some of the best stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums, etc.) we’ve ever tasted. This is an especially great deal, one we long for during those times of the year when farm-fresh peaches are more fantasy than reality: Four pounds of big, beautiful, flavorful peaches packed in an easy-to-carry box, for an excellent price. For these boxes, they’re providing us with big fruit that’s juicy and incredibly flavorful. Each four pound box will be filled with 10-12 Peaches. The fruit is shipped to our stores very cold, so it stays as fresh as possible. This keeps the fruit firm—don’t make the mistake of thinking the fruit isn’t ripe. It’s really ripe. Just leave it out at room temperature for 24-36 hours to let the fruit soften and allow the bright aromas to shine through. We promise it’s worth the wait.
