The sophisticated molecular recognition of various natural biological materials has been used in the formation of a complex network of structures potentially useful for a variety of pharmaceutical applications. They offer solutions to many of the obstacles that need to be overcome, with accuracy not feasible with the technologies usually available in materials science.
