The American Revolution is over and the Spanish have kicked the British out of the Gulf Coast of West Florida. It's late 1787 and the Brits want the place back, with an eye on New Orleans. A young Catalonian soldier of fortune languishes in the infamous Newgate prison in London. One day freedom comes his way, but at a price. The British Army, with promises of money and an officer's rank, convince him to work for them as a spy in Spanish Colonial Louisiana. Little does he know that very soon he will find himself in the middle of one of the most voracious infernos the world has ever known. One the Spanish claim was an accident. Or was it? His attempts to solve this mystery lead into a world of murder and foreign intrigue.
